The Trading Post                      Map

This is a very simple complex of buildings run by two eccentric Halflings. Both already have an eerie reputation – in Mistaton they are rumoured to be able heal broken bones, diseases and the like. The Gila also treat them with awe and say they have strange and mystic powers.

Jason Far-Treader wears sensible clothing (except for his specially made red boots) and runs the business side of the enterprise. He is orderly and medium chatty and can drive a hard bargain if he is in the right mind.

Murdo Sack-Vill always wears bright clothing, often a blue shirt and tight red trousers and is the social one. He does the entertaining and looks after any guests. He will talk to anyone – but moves quickly away from any serious topics. Sometimes he will juggle (often with 4 or 5 apples) in the common room to lighten the mood.

Both saw action in the last wars, it the city of Sybarite – and finished up working with the medical core during the siege there. They will gladly talk about the war if asked. If they suspect trouble Jason will wear studded leather armours and carries a shield and short sword. Murdo just reaches for his short sword and daggers.

Accommodations are limited. There is a single room with cooking fire that guests can stay in, they ask a fee of 1sp/night from guests (or its equivalent and Jason is sharp enough to make it stick) for that the guest can stay over night inside, and get basic meals. The meals are very basic and are whatever they have traded recently or Murdo has managed to trap locally. There is no stable but there is a hitching rail outside. The current meal is an indeterminate meat stew (actually crocodile) and a very weak mushroom beer they got from the dwarves at Farfobest.

The two Halflings sleep in small alcoves at the back of the common room and dine with the residents - so you are truly entering their home when you stay here.

Trade goods are kept in two locked cupboards located between the two sleeping alcoves.

Current stock

Four softly glowing balls, which are reputed to glow forever - they give off about the same light as a weak candle. Travellers might recognise them as apparently growing on bushes locally - but will be warned that they are part of a ferocious spider’s trap, and should be left well alone. (Well you can believe that if you like)

1 crocodile skin
5 assorted snake skins
1 pair of giant dragonfly wings
3 pots of blue dye.

They are in the market for metal items, alcoholic beverages or any type, and tools.
