The History of Galinia and Angasa

390h

Kingdom of Hann runs smoothly, Robert Count of Galinia and Prince of the Royal House rules in the Southwest of the country. One of his vassals is Richard Lord Angasa

393h

A mixed barbarian and monster horde, led by a mysterious figure called Kanna, destroys the Kingdom of Hann. Both Robert and Richard are killed fighting with the Army of the SouthWest. Their stiff resistance holds the barbarian armies, although the kingdom is destroyed Galinia and Angasa survive. They form an independent state under Oswald (Robert’s brother) who styles himself Prince of Galinia. Richard’s son Albert becomes Lord Angasa.

394h

Founding of the Galinian Order, by Aston Albermarle.

523h The barbarian hordes again form, this time under the leadership of a mage called Carne, and sweep through Galinia and Angasa. Refugees flee into The Wangate Empire, The Strongholds and Byrny.

533h

Many survivors from the barbarian attacks make their way to Angasa. They stand alone, without a ruler, as a den for thieves, pirates and smugglers.

542h

A naval action, sponsored by the Wangate empire, to recapture Angasa fails miserably. Pirate raids continue but are not as common as before.

547h

A meeting of the Council of Angasa formally bans ships based in the port from uncontrolled raiding. Ships with a letter of Marque are still welcome of course. (as are smugglers and undeclared pirates)

553h

Angasa establishes a reputation as a "Free Port" although it still has an unsavoury reputation.

571h

Various pirate activities are traced back to Angasa and the Council refuses to do anything about them.

576h

Angasa’s reputation is now as bad as it has ever been.

584h

Abortive attempt by some of Angasa’s council to recreate the old "Free Port" rules. Voted down by more piratical members

588h

Destruction of the Wangate Empire by war bands lead by the War Lord Kane. Augustus, a rich merchant with distant ties to the old ruling family, was now living in the coastal state of Bufa, and managed to escape with much of his wealth intact. He used this wealth to finance marines for his merchant fleet and sailed to Angasa. A short naval engagement saw many Pirate ships taken or destroyed, and a final land raid secured control of the town. Augustus took control of the council house and named himself as Lord of Angasa.

589h

Oliver Green-Barrell, Raven King of Armes and Baron Holy Isle, conferred the title Grand Malik of Angasa on Augustus, after protest by Richard Briganda (who claimed the title Prince of Galinia and Angasa) was withdrawn. It is rumoured that Augustus made cash settlement and promised support for resettling Galinia.

First resettlement of the Galinian main land.

590h

Full settlement of Dingaic, Farfobest, Ransay and Nersay under Jen Jensson (an ex-commander in the Malaton Navy) and Segovax, Lord Treveri. Richard Briganda given the title Earl of Galinia by Oliver Green-Barrell, Raven King of Armes.

Jen Jensson immediately confirmed as Viscount Seton province ( Ransay and Nersay)

591h

Settlements at Dincaoc, Semasay, Ramasay and Mistaton started.

593h

Earl Richard appoints Rolf Liefson as Constable of Halburn Province (Dincaoc, Semasay, Ramasay and Mistaton), in an attempt to develop the area. New settlements at Gnome Island, Branna's, Failtey and Dinaenis.
