What a day! It was pleasant weather, but an uncomfortable day. As we approached the bay where we were to meet Richard Briganda, we found a fortified dwelling house. We scouted it out, but couldn't tell much, so Rolf went and hailed it.

You could have knocked up all down with a feather when a Giant stuck his head over the gate and told us to get off his land! He told us he owned all the land about and that we were bandits. He couldn't own it of course, because it's the Earl's land. Then it turned out that he had Dogheads as housemates, and he called us bandits!

Well, when he saw the Doghead, Callum charged the gate. But the canny giant just put his foot behind it and he bounced a good 6-foot back when he hit it. Suddenly everyone was up for a fight ? but Mandrake stepped in.

He used his magic on the giant. I'm not sure what he did first but the giant didn't like it, but the he made it look like a Doghead was attacking the giant. However, it was an illusion and the giant saw through it. He hit back with an illusion of his own, and a small Doghead jumped up and attacked Mandrake, which got all our guys edgy and they went to try and take the thing on, only for it to fade away.

Well, it turned out the giant spoke Gaelic and he got into a slanging match with Callum and Elsbeth joined in as well. The Edgar pretended to be a messenger from the Morigan, but he speaks no Gaelic, and the giant saw through it.

Eventually Rolf led us away, to camp down by the shore, so that we would be ready for when the Earl arrived. I really thought we were going to have another fight, I had even strapped my armour down just in case there were more dogheads outside.
