An amazing day. We were sitting waiting quietly when I saw ships come sailing up the loch, they turned out to have Earl Richard and well as Augustus of Angasa, the Lords Segovax and Jensen, not to mention the leaders of all the Norse and Celtic villages of Galinia. Augustus had even bought two of his council with him. Talk about a gathering of the exalted.

Well, The Earl laid out a huge picnic and took Rolf's report. Then he formed us all up like an army and marched us on the Giant's house, and went to talk to him. After a short while the giant agreed to move, I think The Earl offered to pay him, to move, but it was well backed up by the threat of action.

Then he lead us all back to camp and gave out rewards. Rolf and Elsbeth were made squires of The Sword Reforged, and Rolf was also appointed full constable of the Area. The earl ordered a bard's tale written about Callum and appointed me Court Librarian and Mandrake Herald of Galinia. Kerim gained favourable trading rights along the path we followed, and Aenis had a new settlement, to be built in the place he is buried, named after him. Then he went on to describe how we would secure the path by encouraging new settlements along it.

Afterwards, Forkbeard took the mound and we thought he would reward Madelyn for her part in the expedition, but we were wrong. Apparently Madelyn had murdered the Doghead who dies by the Gila-men in cold blood. No one had realised at the time, but she confessed to Forkbeard when she saw him. She has to wear a black band around her head, and help build the Galinan roads, and finally kill Dogheads gloriously in battle to expiate the stain. It seems such a shame - she's a nice girl at heart.

Madelyn was clearly upset by the matter and while Rolf was comforting her, a stranger called Ravn went and interrupted them. At first he was give short shrift, but later the three got together and Ravn read the runes for the others.

Elsbeth and Yuri were off by the loch, when Edgar had visitors. Ravn's crow and Greybeard's parrot, Jolly, descended on Mandrake and appeared to be having a conversation all together, it was quite an amusing sight to see. Then he got fed up with it and caused an illusory wild cat to appear and chase them. He got a bit more than he bargained for though. All the by-standers thought it was real too - and he had to explain it to them. The look on their faces was a picture.

The Earl then gave us our next task. We are to clear the buildings of Tas Bardon on the island in the loch, apparently the earl wishes to build his home there. I think we are expected to set off tomorrow. Better get ready I suppose...
