Rolf, already moving in the right direction advances a bit more and levels his bow, Callum starts a run towards the other side of the trail, winding up his sword as he goes. OOC: I took Callum round the back of the mules, as the shortest way to the other bushes :) Madelyn moves up the edge of the bushes and levels her spear at the first doghead, and Mandrake lunges for the doghead's iron bars. Peter, Elsbeth, Smilo and Kerim stay bunched in the middle holding on to the animals. Suddenly the first doghead swings with its bars and knocks Madelyn's spear point away and then, turning on its heel, takes a swing at Mandrake as it runs off. The two iron bars are connected by a chain and the second bar whistles towards Madrake, just grazing him on the side of the head (OOC: 1 point damage). Realising that Keldon is part way into the bushes and will have difficulty getting out, Madelyn leaps from the saddle and draws her sword. |
Picking up on the disturbance behind, Rolf spins, takes aim and fires an arrow at the retreating doghead (the one with the two iron bars connected by a chain). Putting another arrow to string, he draws again. OOC: If the one arrow hits and stops or considerably slows the doghead, he'll return his attention to the one by Smilo. Otherwise, he'll launch another arrow at the retreating doghead. |

A d20 roll for Rolf please, and you might as well roll some damage in case it hits :) |
Rolf lets fly, feeling quick feeling of satisfaction as the arrow sinks into the fleeing dogman. Quickly, he notches another arrow, a sheaf arrow this time, and draws. "Stop!" he yells out. OOC: I rolled a 15. As I didn't specify arrow type in my move, I figured I'd play safe and took the lesser damage potential of the flight arrows. 5 points of damage. |
OOC: John has he stopped have I got the time to reach him and get an attack in? |
Hobbit Makes its Stand |
Smilo spins about while yanking his dirk free. OOC: Anything comes close, he'll use tumble. Rolled a 9. |
The arrow slices into the arm of the doghead and it trips and falls, but completes a somersault and gets to its feet still running. OOC: Hey Madelyn - What you a doin'? Before Rolf posts again please :) |
Peter draws his dagger again and stands ready by the animals. |
Mandrake spins around and hightails it after the doghead, shortsword in hand. If he can catch (OOC: I doubt it given the speed differences) he will attack with it. Otherwise he will slip it into his belt and draw and use his sling. OOC: with a roll of 11, either misses anyway, but it may make him stop ;-) |
If the Doghead at any point whilst under attack, then she will run over and attack him with her sword, otherwise, she will calm Keldon down Have a good weekend all |

[Assuming he can do it without risking Madelyn...] Rolf lets the sheaf arrow fly, quickly drawing another. [If Rolf can't get a clean shot at the fleeing, wounded doghead...] Rolf spins and brings the arrow into line with the other doghead, letting the sheaf arrow fly, quickly drawing another. [If Rolf doesn't have a clean shot at anybody...] Rolf keeps the arrow drawn, ready to let fly as soon as an opportunity presents itself. OOC: Rolled a 7, looks like Rolf didn't manage to hit anything, anywhere, with the arrow. |

{OOC: This is based on the fact that Elsbeth has not released the entangle (some rules allow that) on the entangled Doghead and Wolf.} Elsbeth sternly tells her mare to stay put, that she's going to be okay. Then, getting as close as she dares to her own entangled foliage (basically as close as she dares without tearing her clothing) she speaks a few soft tones to the wolf. She has no doubt that the creature is frightened, encouraged by the Doghead with it. Still, she speaks in her own tongue: softly, carefully, telling it she will see it free. (Spell: Charm mammals).
