102 Another stubborn door

102 Another stubborn door by Admin

The party stand outside the door, looking at it. Mandrake has elected to take guard duty with Yuri and Kerim is chatting, it would seem that 'Callum's Key' is the best option ....

OOC: I'm away for a few days, should be back Thursday.

Booty by Kerim Alakani

Kerim continues his conversation with Elsbeth. He looks at the Turines with dismay, their size making them practically impractical to carry.

"A poor price indeed they'll fetch, and so the more for none are here to trade with. We may yet use them as their maker had intended, for soup!" says Kerim showing to Elsbeth that loot is not all that he cares about.

Kerim seeing that another door is possibly in need of saving recalls his sense of duty to Rolf, and excuses himself from Elsbeth "I must excuse myself lady, would I enjoy talking further at hand, however a door beckons yet again and if we are to away in your much sought forest I had better hurry the task."

Kerim bows to Elsbeth and hurries off to the door. His hands still full he hands the Turines to Peter and turns his attention on the new door, and those gathered around, pushing his way through the throng of door well wishers.

"Traps though indeed we are yet to see, I'd rather not have it said I would let you find them first."

Knock! Knock! by Callum mac Aonghas

As Kerim scuttles up to the door, Callum asks Rolf "Will I be opening this, then?"

OOC: I'm having a hard time resisting the temptation to repeatedly turn through 180 degrees, slap anyone, poke anyone in the eye or indulge in any kind of pratfall.

"Not just yet...." by Rolf

"Not just yet," Rolf replies to the timber-wielding warrior, "Let us see what else it available." He glances about seeking inspiration. "Let's circle the building and see if there are other entrances. Edgar, take a look from the air if you will."

OOC: What sort of door is this and can we tell how it is secured?

Soup bowls by Admin

Peter takes the big silver dishes that Kerim hands him and stands watching the action by the door.

Doors by Admin

The twin doors are solid and iron studded, they clearly open inwards. There is a large black iron lockplate in the centre of one door.

Kerim's inspection of the doors and lock did not reveal any traps.

The view from the top by Edgar

At the Constable's command, Edgar takes to the air. He circles low above the building before settling atop it.

Daydreaming guard by Mandrake

As Mandrake sits comfortably on his perch he takes only the smallest interest in guarding, reasoning that the noise of the woodworking and door openning would have caused anything about to have taken flight or action by now.

Instead, his mind drifts away in flights of wonder and intrigue. Just who was the gnome depicted in the statue? Such a question was all the more intriguing as the group's inspections of this village has shown it to not be a gnomes place, unyet a gnome warrior of all things is honoured by the people.

"Have you ever heard of any great gnomish warrior Yuri?" he says at last. "I mean I have of course, but then I am a gnome and we have legends and histories with such characters, but one who is reveared by other races?"

Gnomish Warriors .... by Yuri X

"Well" responds Yuri, "I have heard the story of Garl the Golden and the giant mole called Ur Dan. But isn't that legendary? Some tale of heros and gods from the times past?

The only other Gnomes I have heard tell of are Ganjoes Cleverhands of Rock Home and his protege Alfonse. However last I heard Ganjoes was still Clander of Rockhome and Alfonse is involved in trading along the coast."

Talk of legends by Mandrake

"Yes, my point exactly. You know of one tale from legend, and of two great illusionists of our own time. And even these are heroes of the gnomes with such fame that the other races cannot help but to have heard the stories.

"Nothing of a great warrior in what I assume was a mainly human area. This is something different I feel, and I am going to try to get to the bottom of it. Such a character does not deserve to be forgotten by his own people."

survivor ... by Yuri X

"Yes, it is strange to see a statue dedicated to an unknown Gnome, in a human area. Could it be supposed to represent one of your legendary heroes do you think?" responds Yuri laconically.

soup bowls by Peter Gasgano

Peter puts the two silver soup serving bowls down by his feet, as he watches Edgar fly up towards the roof of the building.

He re-arrranges his dagger and shield so that he is ready for combat if need be. *Will Kerim try to unlock it, or will Callum batter it down?* he wonders to himself.
